Welcome!
I’m so glad you’re here.
I understand if some of you are cautious though. If you are anything like I was when I first even considered looking into this subject, there is a good chance you are a little nervous.
Maybe you love the Bible like I do, and are afraid of misinterpreting it. Maybe you have held certain beliefs for a long time, and want to be faithful to God, your family, your church, and your tradition. Maybe you have been told that reading a different perspective is risky. Maybe, like me, you’d been told by some, to leave the studying to the men. Maybe you clicked this link and immediately thought, “Okay… what am I getting myself into?”
If that is the case, I understand.
Part of the reason I wrote this is because I was there too. And I wanted to share my journey in case what I discovered might help someone else walking this path too.
I did not begin this journey trying to prove anything. I began because I wanted to know. I wanted to understand what Scripture says, what theologians and biblical scholars have discovered, what the science reveals, how history shaped our conclusions, and even why our brains struggle when long-held beliefs are challenged.
Wrestling with Scripture is not rebellion. It is how faith grows muscles.
I invite you to join me. Not to agree with everything I write, but to question. To test. To discover. Always with our eyes on Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith.
So pour some coffee. Open your Bible. Bring your questions. Bring your caution. Bring your love for God, for people, and for truth. Truth does not panic when examined.
You are welcome here.
